Summer, aaahhh!

This summer has been awesome so far. So much has happened, and we're already halfway through! We have tons of pictures, so let's get going.

First, the sleeping pictures. Everyone is sweeter when they're sleeping. Especially tired mommas! Ha ha ha!



Peter loves pretending to talk on the phone. He also loves helping other people talk on the phone.

My dad's secretary, Whitney, has a boy about six months older than Peter. She recently blessed us with a bunch of new clothes and shoes for him, and Peter's favorite were the Air Jordans.

MmmHmmm, stylish! When we first got them he couldn't get enough, and even would bring them to us first thing in the morning to put them on.

After talking on the phone, Peter loves helping! He'll go over and tug on our step stool saying, "Uh Hewwp, uh hewwp!" We set it up wherever we're at, and he goes right to work, washing out bowls with a rag or stirring dinner. Cutest baby ever! We are definitely trying to capitalize on this.

Peter's third love: The Outdoors. The picture below shows him as a white speck toward the bottom left as he walks out to the playground despite our entreaties to come back.

The red and yellow car is a classic favorite.

We needed a new hat for him that gave him good coverage from the sun, fair-skinned as he is. We saw some little boys running around with this model, and thought we'd get one too. They were $25 at REI, but luckily we made our first trip to Kid to Kid, and found it for $3. Score!

This summer has seen us doing lots of hikes. Which has required an awesome baby hiking backpack. Ours is a Deuter Kid Comfort III. This we paid a pretty penny for at REI, but it's so comfortable that it was worth it. We intend to be an outdoors family, so this was a necessary purchase. We've loved it!

Adjusts to fit comfortably on both mom and dad, Peter generally enjoys it for two hours before needing a break.

It also gives Peter access to our heads, which he makes full use of by pulling our hair and ears, as pictured below.

This is at a place called the Living Room, a view you can get to from the Mt. Wire hike. We got there at sunset, and it was just lovely!

We ended up getting down from the mountain pretty late. Here are the city lights toward the end of the hike around 10pm.

For Memorial day we went to see the air show at Hill Air Force Base. I had never been to one before, so it was quite thrilling to see the Thunderbirds for the first time.

Here are the Thunderbirds in their diamond formation. They can do some pretty impressive maneuvers!

Grandma watched Peter for us while we went to the air show, and he fell asleep on her lap! What an angel!

Here's a picture of Peter holding Shep Rowan. He loved it and threw a fit when we said it was Shaela's turn. Ha ha! He'll be a good big brother some day.

It's ridiculous, but we haven't got any pictures of Peter's newest cousin, Silas Williams on here! Silas was born May 1. We will definitely have to remedy the situation soon. Below, Peter is hanging out in Wilson's kennel. He crawled in and begged us to close the door. Gotta love it!

We've been going to story-time frequently, which Peter rather enjoys. Here he is, going up to pop the bubbles they do for the kids at the end.

We went to the IFA Country Store here in Salt Lake to purchase some plants for our garden and Peter got to see the baby chicks and bunnies. It was so cute!

We've loved summer so far and are sad it's already halfway over! But we've got lots of fun ahead yet, and then on to Luke's last year of school! Hooray!
