Here are some pictures of us just living at our apartment in the University Village at the U of U. We have wonderful memories there and continue to recommend it as a great place to live, despite the quirks!

Max had his first dentist appointment around this time. He was excited enough to climb up onto the chair, but when the dentist came to actually peer inside his mouth he was not pleased in the least!
Also during this month I was experimenting with a Waldorf approach to early education. For this age, Waldorfers are all about creative play with open-ended toys, playing outside every day no matter what the weather, and nurturing stories, food, and rhythms. I tried several open-ended (toys which can be used for more than one thing) toys with Peter, such as blocks and fabric. I did notice a lot of creative play going on!
In these pictures below he had spilled water on the table and was just playing with it and pretending the different spots were islands.

More creative play. It's hard to hear the video, but Peter, being denied his usual close-ended (not sure if that's a word, but I'm using it to describe his toys that are meant to be only one thing) cars and planes, started using the leftover grape vine thing to be a plane. I was very impressed!

One Sunday we were on our way out the door to visit family when we realized we had locked our keys in the house. Luke had to try to break in, and just then it started to rain. Classic.

All throughout the year my friends an I did a little co-op preschool for our kids, taking turns each week to teach a lesson. I forgot to take pictures ever, so there's only this one to show the great adventures that were had.

Peter riding bikes around the court with his friend Aaron. He rarely gets to ride his bike around our new neighborhood because it's such a hilly area. We both miss it!

I used to walk with the boys to the library that was just 10 minutes down the street all the time. Peter would ride his bike and I'd have Max in a carrier or stroller. This particular morning I was feeling nostalgic for what we'd be leaving behind when we left, so I took some pictures of our walk. It was such a beautiful spring day!

I took this picture to record Luke's fashion sense. He thought this ensemble was meant to be an outfit. I laughed.
